The Department of Environmental Health and Safety and Public Safety, led by the Emergency Management team, presents a two session Emergency Coordinator training specific for Building Emergency Coordinators.
The first training is via Zoom, about an hour and a half long, and co-led by the University Fire Marshal. It focuses on emergency planning, communication methods, the TigerSafe app, roles and responsibilities of an Emergency Coordinator, and the Building Emergency Action Plan. The University Fire Marsal reviews fire protection systems and common fire code violations. This training occurs in November.
The second training is also in person, about two hours long, and co-led by the Department of Public Safety. This is a scenario-based discussion and relies heavily on participation and conversation among attendees. This training occurs in December.
Please feel free to email Derek Ziegler for more information about the two session Emergency Coordinator trainings.
